January 31 Goodbye Utah, Hello Florida!So we finally moved to a tropical climate - Florida! We love it here so far. I started driving across the country on January 12th with my brother, dad, and uncle. Took us about 2 days of straight driving (although we stopped for an hour or 2 in New Orleans). The wife and kids met me a couple of days later.
I'll have to post some photos soon. August 05 August 2006, Powered ParachutingOn our 9th anniversary, I took my wife Powered Parachuting at Bonneville Skybase in Grantsville. It was AWESOME! I fly a lot commercially, but there really is nothing quite like being free in the sky - I even took the controls for a while :)
Why is it that I feel most at home in the sky?
It was a very smooth 30mph flight. Powered Parachuting is about the safest kind of flight that you can possibly do since it is virtually impossible to stall. Also, if the engine fails, you are already on a parachute!
It was only $30 per person for 10 minutes in the air, although I think Hook and Dennis actually had us up there for longer - a thousand thanks for that :) December 18 And now there are 4...Baby Nicholas is finally here! He was born Dec 16th at 6:50 PM, natural delivery with no complications. He was 8 lbs 1 oz and 21.5 inches long, making him the largest baby we have ever had, despite the fact that he was 11 days early. Both mommy and the baby had a great delivery, but now mom has a virus and laryngitis.
Today we came home from the hospital. The kids are happy to be home and happy to finally have mommy and Nicholas around. Some thoughtful neighbors posted a "Welcome Home" banner on our porch, and we have dinner being delivered for the next several days - a big thanks to all our neighbors for this!
So now we are setting up the crib, trying to get ready for Christmas, and trying to keep the kids from all holding the baby at once :) December 13 Body for LifeOk, the comparison photos are uploaded now, so you can see the 15 lbs or so that I've gained. And it hasn't even been 2 months yet! I'll upload more as I improve. *UPDATE: photos removed because people were jealous :)*
What started this? Well, I was getting life insurance and was unable to obtain the "preferred" rates because I was too thin! I never thought my weight was ideal, but it wasn't unhealthy either. Insurance companies are evil.
Anyway, I'm almost there - another 8 lbs or so and I think I will make it. |
